Dorm Life

Residence Halls
Partain Hall for women and Harrallson Hall for men are residence halls conveniently located on the Wesley College campus. Rooms are approximately 16’6” by 11’9” and fully furnished. Residence halls are arranged in a suite plan such that two adjacent rooms share one full bath. Internet is provided to all residents. In order to receive maximum benefit from the discipleship nature of the Wesley College experience, all students under 21 who do not live with a parent or guardian live in an on-campus residence hall. All rooms and room assignments are contracted for the semester. Rooms are reserved when a deposit is received. Policies pertaining to visitation, guests, campus leave, curfew, and residence hall environment are available in the Student Handbook. Television sets, radios, microwave ovens, popcorn poppers, refrigerators, CD players, and personal computers are permitted in the residence halls on campus. In addition to a fantastic living space, students grow together spiritually with weekly dorm devotions.

Dining Hall
The dining hall is open 7 days a week. The cost of meals for resident students is included in the room and board fee. Off-campus students and guests may purchase a meal ticket or meals individually. Meal schedules and prices are posted at the entrance to the dining hall. The director of food services can accommodate campus guests when arrangements are made according to the Student Handbook.

Ministry Opportunities
Various opportunities for ministry are available to students through both on-campus and off-campus venues. An annual mission’s convention gives students the opportunity to respond to the Great Commission. Guest speakers who have made significant contributions to missions are scheduled. Students are given the opportunity to make a faith promise pledge through the Wesley Missionary Fund. Some students apply to be summer travelers for the college by being a face for evangelism and college recruitment at summer camps across the Southeast United States. Other students voluntarily do weekly evangelism in the parking lot of strip clubs in downtown Jackson. Additionally, many churches and Christian organization post opportunities for Christian service at Wesley College.

Spiritual Life

Chapel
Chapel services are held each Tuesday and Thursday while school is in session. Worship in chapel services is led by This Far, a praise band and vocal group comprised of Wesley College students. The music of chapel services incorporates both new praise songs and standard hymns of the church. Speakers include pastors, evangelists, missionaries, faculty members, students, Christian leaders, business people, and community servants. Services at Wesley College allow students, faculty, and staff to respond to God’s Presence in a number of ways, including prayer at the chapel altars.

Revival Services
Recognizing the primary importance of spirituality in a Christian education, Wesley College begins each semester with a series of revival services. Wesley brings in speakers – many well known – to uplift, encourage, and challenge students to become the men and women of God
He has created them to be.

Discipleship
Students and faculty members join together in small groups each year for the purpose of mentoring, discipleship, and accountability. Each student has the opportunity to join one of these men’s or women’s groups. Devotions are held regularly in the residence halls, and midweek Bible studies are held on campus.

Missions
An annual missions convention gives students the opportunity to respond to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). Guest speakers who have made significant contributions to missions are scheduled. At Wesley College, the Missionary Prayer Band (MPB) is the campus missions organization. The MPB sponsors projects and fundraisers throughout the year to assist missions and churches with specific ministry needs. The MPB also arranges for an annual missions trip for Wesley College students. Mission trips in recent years have been made to Mexico, New Mexico Navajo reservations, Florida Penial Missions, Belize, and Japan.
